Pokemon GO in Sanriku was a Pokémon GO regional event commemorating the inauguration of the Sanriku Railway Rias Line.

Geodude will spawn in large numbers over the whole Iwate Prefecture from July 1st to July 15th, to coincide with Geodude being named ambassador of Iwate in Japan and various Pokémon events commemorating it being hosted in Iwate. In addition, to commemorate the reopening of the railway in Sanriku, spawns of additional Rock-type Pokémon like as Sudowoodo, Onix, Omanyte, Kabuto, and Aerodactyl will be enhanced in the coastal region of Sanriku.
