3rd Anniversary Event
It’s a little hard to believe, but Pokémon Go has been out for almost a full year. To celebrate, Niantic Labs announced that it’s planning a number of in-game and in-person events.
3rd Anniversary Event is Here!
The game's first major event, dubbed the Solstice Event, will take place. This event will take place on June 13th, and it will contain Fire-type and Ice-type pokémon, XP bonuses, and cheap Lucky Eggs. The developers also revealed that a new update focusing on collaborative gaming would be released shortly, hinting to a "new method" to play the game, but will also temporarily shut down in-game gyms.
Fans of the game may also attend the first in-person event in July: Pokémon Go Fest Chicago ,
This is set to take place on July 22nd, 2017. The event's tickets will go on sale on June 19th. (Pricing and a schedule are not yet published, so it's uncertain what will happen during the event.) Further events are planned for Europe betwee
