Abra Community Day in April 25th, 2020
The long-awaited Abra Community Day in Pokemon Go has finally come. The event, which was initially scheduled on March 15 before being postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, will finally take place today, April 25, more than a month later.
While Abra will continue to be the featured Pokemon for April's Community Day, Niantic has altered the event from its initial intentions. To catch you up, we've compiled a list of everything you need to know about Pokemon Go Community Day in April below.
Niantic is launching a new Abra Community Day feature: an unique Special Research narrative quest. To take part, you must acquire a virtual ticket from the Pokemon Go in-game shop. The ticket costs $1 USD and provides you access to the Investigating Illusions questline, which when finished rewards you with 13,000 Stardust, a Poffin, a Rocket Radar (which can be used to hunt down and combat Team Rocket commanders Arlo, Sierra, and Cliff), and other goods.
Shiny Abra
Abra will remain the featured Pokemon for April's Community Day, which means it will spawn more often than usual throughout the event. This also means you'll have another opportunity to catch a Shiny Abra, which will be easier to come by during the Community Day. While Shiny Pokemon are usually hard to come by in Pokemon Go, the increased Abra spawning should guarantee you stumble across a few if you keep your eyes peeled. Because to the COVID-19 pandemic, this event, which was originally set for March 2020, has been rescheduled for April 25th. It was dubbed Community Day: Play at Home Edition by Niantic. All future Community Days followed this structure. What Is April's Community Day Move?
Abra, like the other highlighted Pokemon, may learn an unique event-exclusive move during this month's Community Day. It will learn the Fighting-type quick attack Counter if you can power up its evolved form, Kadabra, into Alakazam up to two hours after the Community Day finishes. This applies to any Kadabra that develops within the specified time period, regardless of whether you got it previously to the event. How To Evolve Kadabra
Abra can be evolved into Kadabra and Alakazam as normal by feeding it enough Abra Candy, but there's another way to get the Pokemon's ultimate form: the freshly added trade evolution technique. Some Pokemon, much as in the main series, may now evolve via trade. If you trade a qualifying Pokemon with another player, the Candy requirement will be erased, allowing you to develop it for free. One of the Pokemon that can evolve utilizing this new approach is Kadabra. If you obtain a Kadabra in a trade, you may develop it into Alakazam without feeding it Candy. Because trading in Pokemon Go can only be done locally, you'll need a buddy willing to trade a Kadabra with you before or during this month's Community Day, but this is a faster way to get Alakazam than the regular evolution procedure. Update: Abra was initially scheduled to appear in the upcoming Pokemon GO Community Day. However, due to the coronavirus, the event was canceled. The same Community Day is scheduled to take place next week. Niantic has revealed that it will take place on April 25. Abra will have the unique move Counter (Alakazam only). In addition, there will be 3x catch Stardust and 3-hour Incense.Special Research
