PokéCoins

A PokéCoin

PokéCoins are in-game currency used to purchase items from the Shop. They can be obtained in two ways by defending a gym or by purchasing them with real currency. The coins are golden and they feature a picture of the profile side of a Pikachu.

Defender Bonus

See: Gym → Defender Bonus
Defender Bonus allows play to gather up to PokeCoin.png 50 free PokéCoins in a day for keeping Pokémon in Gyms. The longer the Pokémon stay on the Gym, the more PokéCoins will be earned. For every 10 minutes a Pokémon occupies a gym, PokeCoin.png 1 will be added to the Trainers' potential defender bonus which is given to Trainer once Pokémon returns from the gym.

Daily Research

See: Research tasks → Daily Research
Daily Research is a second method of obtaining PokéCoins in game. It is currently in development phase and is being tested in several countries. When this feature is available, Trainers can achieve only PokeCoin.png 30 free PokéCoins from Defender Bonus and PokeCoin.png 20 if Trainer completes all Daily Research tasks.
