It's time for the first Pokemon GO Community Day of 2021, albeit recent developments have made this seem more like a special DLC for 2020 than anything else. Regardless, there is never a genuinely poor moment to go outdoors and collect Pokemon, so if you've been feeling anxious about anything other than the game, maybe the best move is to go out and stroll about for a little while, letting these tiny critters direct your path. And Community Day is an excellent day for it. Let's get started with the Machop Community Day in January.
Start/End Times: No new news here, still on the same extended schedule for the pandemic. It’s on Saturday, January 16, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time.
The Pokemon: I'm not complaining that a lot of Kanto Pokemon have appeared lately for Community Day. Machop is a hilarious little guy, gaining a lot of padding when it matures into Machoke and tossing on a few arms for good measure as it evolves into Machamp. And that's exactly what you're aiming for: a decent Machamp is a reliable, high DPS fighting-type attacker that can fit into any variety of raid teams. If you have a complete squad of Champs, you can wreak havoc on all types of legendaries, so I suggest gathering all the candy you can.
Research: The event special research "Straight to the top, Machop!" is presently available for $1 or its local equivalent in the store. We'll know more about the processes and prizes once Community Day is online in New Zealand and folks can check it out. There will also be some timed research for people who do not want to purchase.
The Move: That's an intriguing one! Payback, a Dark-type charged move, will be known to any Machamp evolved during or up to two hours following the occurrence. This is more of a PvP issue than a PvE one: Fighting kinds are vulnerable to Psychic and are often somewhat frail. Machamp can play a little defense against those Psychic-types with a Dark-type charged attack, as long as it can stay around long enough. It's a covering maneuver designed to reduce weak points.
The Bonus: There are some fascinating ones here! Along with three-hour incense and triple catch Stardust, we've increased the trade range to 40km, which should cover a significant majority of any decent-sized city. If you have a pandemic buddy you haven't been able to meet in person, this is your opportunity. Or check social media to see if anybody has what you're searching for.
January 2021 Featured Pokemon: Machop
Machop, a Fighting-type Pokemon from the original Red and Blue editions, is this month's featured Pokemon. During January's Community Day, Machop will spawn in the wild far more often than usual, providing an excellent chance to load up on enough Machop Candy to develop it. Shiny Machop will also be present during the event. This will be considerably harder to come by, but with little perseverance, you should be able to locate one.
January's Community Day Move: Payback
The Dark-type assault Payback is this month's Community Day special move. If you can develop Machop's evolved form, Machoke, into Machamp within two hours after the Community Day concludes, the Pokemon will learn Payback instantly. This applies to any Machoke that develops within the specified time range, regardless of whether you captured it before the Community Day.
January's Community Day Hours
The January Community Day will last six hours instead of three, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time. This means you'll have until 7 p.m. local time to develop Machoke into a Machamp that understands Payback.
Community Day Special Research
Niantic will give an event-exclusive Special Research narrative called Straight to the Top, Machop as part of this month's Community Day. Tickets to access the tale may be bought for $1 USD in Pokemon Go's in-game store. If you buy a ticket to next month's Kanto Tour event before January 13, you'll get complimentary tickets to January and February's Community Day Special Research.
Other Community Day Bonuses
Aside from higher Machop spawning, a few of in-game benefits will be available on January's Community Day. To begin, capturing Pokemon during the event will give you quadruple the regular amount of Stardust. Furthermore, any Incense you apply will be active for three hours, and trading distance is temporarily raised to 40 kilometers, allowing you to exchange Pokemon with other players from a greater distance than normal.
Finally, via Pokemon Go's in-game store, Niantic will offer a special Community Day package. The package will cost 1,280 PokeCoins and will include the following items:
Pokemon GO Community Days are usually a fantastic chance for lovers of the game. Community Days is a special day ( especially this December 2021 Pokemon Community Day ) not only encourage Pokemon GO users to gather and play as a group, but they are also valuable chances to locate uncommon Pokemon in large numbers, such as starter Pokemon from throughout the franchise's regions.
As is customary, Pokemon GO will end the year with a December Community Day, which will include powered-up Incense, enhanced Stardust earnings, and special packages to keep fans stocked throughout the event. However, unlike most others, December 2021 will not have a Community Day. The day is divided into two days of exceptional incentives that do not revolve around a single Pokemon.
