Lunar New Year 2018 Event

The Lunar New Year 2018 celebrations are already underway in China and throughout the globe, and Pokémon Go gamers may now join in on the fun.   The Year of the Dog event began yesterday and will end on February 17th at 1pm PST. This year's in-game party is all about those canine pocket monsters, as you would assume given the theme. pokemon_go_screenshot_of_shiny_poochyena_profile During the event, any trainers who capture a dog-like Pokémon will earn extra Stardust. Growlithe, Poochyena, Snubbull, Electrike, and (the finest of the group) Eevee make up the quartet of puppies. To be honest, it's a pity that Niantic hasn't completely committed to the idea by bringing back the Legendary dog trio to Raids. It's also interesting that the event's bonus list excludes the adorable mean-looking Houndour.

Eevee is the surprise inclusion in Pokemon Go’s Year of the Dog Lunar Event. Yes, a fox is a member of the Canidae family as are dogs but still…

Niantic also revealed the addition of a new shiny type Pokémon to Pokémon Go - a shiny Poochyena (which implies you'll be able to develop it into a shiny Mightyena).

The star of the show this time is Poochyena, as you’ll now be able to catch a Shiny version of it.

If you haven't already obtained the Lovedisc from the Valentine's Day event, now is your final chance. The event was scheduled to have concluded by now, but Niantic prolonged it owing to login troubles.

My Thoughts About The Lunar New Year 2018 Event

The Valentine's Day event in Pokemon Go is coming to a close, but a new one has started in the popular mobile game. Niantic has launched a Lunar New Year event in Pokemon Go, rewarding players with benefits when they capture particular dog-like Pokémon. To commemorate the start of the Year of the Dog, Pokemon Go players will get three times the usual amount of Stardust when capturing Poochyena, Growlithe, Snubble, Eevee, or Electrike. During the event, all of the aforementioned Pokemon will spawn more often. But, like the Valentine's Day celebration, the Lunar New Year event will only be available for a limited time, from February 15 to 17. In Taiwan, Pokemon Go users may take part in a distinct Lunar New Year event. Niantic is holding a Safari Zone event during the Chiayi Lantern Festival from February 26 to March 3. During the day, players may meet Dratini, Mr. Mime, Growlithe, and other Pokemon, while Chinchou and Lanturn will spawn at night as the lanterns begin to shine. Further information regarding the Safari Zone may be found on the Pokemon Go website. The Valentine's Day event in Pokemon Go was supposed to expire on February 15; however, owing to server troubles that prevented many players from logging in, Niantic has prolonged the event by an extra 24 hours. This provides players with an additional opportunity to meet higher spawns of Luvdisc and Chansey and win triple Stardust for each one caught. Lunar New Year 2018 Event Niantic has added a new group of Gen 3 Pokémon to Pokemon Go, notably Dragon and Flying-types like Salamence and Altaria. A new Gen 3 Legendary, Rayquaza, is also now accessible in the game. The Sky High Pokemon will appear in Raid Battles at Gyms until March 16. The second Pokemon Go Community Day is still scheduled on February 24, later this month. During the occasion, gamers will have the opportunity to meet a Pokemon that knows a special move, similar to January's Community Day, which featured a Pikachu who could use Surf. Niantic has not disclosed the move, but the Pokemon this time is the uncommon Dragon-type Dratini. Are you still hoping to capture them all, or have you given up on Pokémon Go? Or were you one of the few individuals on the earth who managed to avoid playing it when it first came out?
