Halloween 2016 in Pokemon GO
Halloween in 2016 was the inaugural Halloween event, as well as the first event in Pokémon GO.
It was the summer's smash success, but when the temperatures drop and the nights draw in, walking about with your phone on display may not be the ideal way to spend your evenings.
But, Niantic, the creators of Pokémon Go, is attempting to entice you with the game's first "event," a Halloween special that runs from October 26 to November 1.
The most noticeable change is an increase in the likelihood of encountering the game's creepiest Pokemon: Drowzee, Hypno, Ghastly, Haunter, Gengar, Golbat, and Zubat.
Returning players have an added incentive to perform hard over the next several days. In keeping with the Halloween theme, there are additional goodies throughout the game, and players will get twice the candy for collecting and transferring Pokémon, as well as quadruple the candies for strolling with their friend Pokémon.
If you're still playing Pokémon Go, everything is fairly lovely. Yet, the Halloween event pales in comparison to the massively multiplayer scenarios Niantic teased in the lead-up to the game's release.
The initial Pokémon Go teaser, published over a year ago, hinted to the prospect of massive real-world events fueled by the search for rare Pokémon. For example, in the teaser, hundreds of gamers gathered in New York's Times Square to fight the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo.
In actuality, the game has seen little of that magnitude, and the enormous events that have occurred - such as gamers assembling on the Los Angeles beachfront to catch the rare Pokémon Blastoise - have been mostly a product of the sheer number of players playing simultaneously.
Nevertheless, the number of players has decreased from more than 50 million to fewer than 30 million, and it seems that the game may struggle to draw them back in the lack of new features. Those who are still playing the game, such as users of the Pokémon Go subreddit, have one set of complaints: the lack of anything to do after collecting every Pokémon and the massive increase in experience necessary to level up at the game's current stage.
Nevertheless, for gamers who left before the troubles arose, it may take more than a Halloween event to get them back.

Huge Candy drops and increased Ghost spawns for Halloween ?
According to the official source, every Pokémon you capture will provide you six Candies, which is twice the usual amount. For each Pokémon you transfer to him, the Professor will offer you two Candies instead of one. And your Friend Pokémon will provide Candy four times quicker than normal. Also, some Pokemon will emerge much more often than they did before. During your trick-or-treat journey, keep an eye out for the following Pokémon:- Zubat, Golbat
- Gastly, Haunter, Gengar
- Drowzee, Hypno
- NEW: Cubone, Marowak and Meowth
Prepare for Halloween event
- Consider clearing out all of your junk pokes. And by that, we mean “plan what you’re going to transfer right as it starts so you can afford the space when you go out and catch.”
- Stock up on Pokeballs. Pots are not as important.
- Save up for incubators / buy them during the event. Maybe this also means walking off all your 2km eggs in the next few days.
- Get good spots in as many high level gyms as you can right now. You don’t want to be fighting gyms during the event and this also makes good use of your pots to free up bag space.
- Walk your buddy up to X-0.1 km the night before. You can also walk your eggs up to X-0.1 if you incubated a lot of them at the same time.
- Optional: map out paths that contain a lot of known spawn points.
- Borrow someone’s portable charger or get your own.
- Get comfortable walking/jogging shoes, a jacket if it’s cold, a water bottle, etc.
- End the event right after collecting your bonus buddy candy.
