Grass Weekend 2017

Trainers, Niantic has officially revealed the next Pokemon GO event, Global Bloom! Grass Weekend 2017: From May 5 to May 8, there will be an influx (increased spawn) of grass Pokemon as part of the worldwide bloom event! pokemongo-bulbasaur-Grass Weekend 2017
Update #1: Lures will last 6 hours during the weekend, as confirmed by Niantic on Twitter! There will be no Shop deals, nor will there be double XP or Stardust for this event, just increased Grass spawns and longer Lure Modules. To refresh your memory, these Pokémon are grass types in Generation I and II, with the exception of those that need evolution items: Official announcement:
Professor Willow’s research into Pokémon habitats around the world has uncovered some interesting findings. His initial reports indicate that we’ll see an influx of Grass-type Pokémon sometime this weekend. These Pokémon will appear in the wild more frequently starting the afternoon of May 5, but only for a short period of time. We anticipate that Pokémon will return to their normal habitats on May 8, 2017 PDT. Help us contribute to Professor Willow’s ongoing research by catching as many Grass-type Pokémon as possible this weekend. While you’re out with friends and family, don’t forget to document your findings using the Pokémon GO AR camera and share your screenshots on social media using #PokemonGO.
Strangely, the Pokemon company's Twitter account displays Chikorita and Bulbasaur, thus we assume they will be popular during the event:
Check in tomorrow, May 5, and try to capture as many Grass-type Pokemon as possible. Participate in Professor Wilow's study on Pokemon habitats. There will be an inflow of Grass-type Pokemon this weekend, but only for a limited period. You'll have until May 8 to capture them before they return to their natural homes. Lure Modules will last for six hours this weekend to help you capture your favorite Grass-type Pokémon! When capturing them, remember to utilize your Pokemon Go AR camera and post everything on social media with the hashtag #PokemonGO. And now we have the next Pokémon GO event, which will be released in a flurry by developer Niantic Labs. The event is known as the "Worldwide Bloom," and it begins tomorrow afternoon PDT. The Global Bloom will improve Grass-type Pokémon spawn rates throughout all places, providing users access to animals like as Bulbasaur, Chikorita, and others. It won't be around for long, however, since it will be gone on May 8. That means you just have one weekend to get out there and complete your Grass Pokémon collection. According to the official announcement: From the official announcement:

It should also be mentioned that, although Pokémon GO has a tendency to tilt towards the adorable, the sleeping Bulbasaur truly raises the bar in terms of attractiveness. This isn't on the same level as past events. The Global Bloom only lasts one weekend and seems to be little more than an increase in Grass-type Pokémon spawning. In contrast, the comparable Water Festival lasted a week and included a fashionable Magikarp hat as well as the surprise presentation of shining Pokémon. A comparable surprise isn't out of the question for this event, although it seems less plausible considering the short duration. Pokémon GO seems to be mostly an event-driven game these days, so it stands to reason that Niantic would be experimenting with a more restricted format to fill in the gaps between larger-scale events, which generally occur around real-world holidays. It wouldn't be shocking to see Pokémon GO ramp up a little after school is out, so Niantic will likely need to maintain a regular stream of events going to keep youngsters interested in going outdoors. Rejoice!
